Action Society hopes for swift justice in violent ‘bakkie murder’ case

Action Society is hopeful that the murder trial against the man who violently killed Nomasonto Felicity Modzanane (50) will pave the way forward toward justice. The senseless and brutal murder of this woman warrants a harsh and quick sentence. A date for the pre-trial has been set for 6 December 2024.

Nomasonto was an employee at the Randfontein Magistrate Court and had just finished her shift. She was walking across the street behind the court when a man driving a bakkie struck her with his car. As seen on CCTV footage, which has been circulating online, the suspect was speeding directly toward Nomasonto and then continued to reverse over her again after he first struck her.

“This was a deliberate and sadistic way to kill this woman who was a mother of three. Only a coward will act in the way he did, and we will ensure that he faces the full consequences of his actions,” said Action Society’s Kaylynn Palm.
