Action Society has been requested to assist in the murder case of 18-year-old Dylan Bothma who was beaten and shoved into traffic at a house party in Heidelberg in June last year. His tragic and cruel death has caused his family an indescribable amount of heartache, and the lack of details from that evening has them desperate for answers.
According to reports, Dylan was dropped off at a party at approximately 17:30 on the 24th of June 2023. He was offered drugs, but refused to take them which led to a violent altercation and he was forced to flee the house where the party was taking place.
CCTV footage from the street shows Dylan being beaten in the road. He was able to escape from the attackers, but his evening of horrors was far from over, and the attackers were clearly determined to take his life that night. His attackers drove Dylan out to the R23 Balfour Road where they continued to pommel and beat him before pushing him into traffic where he was struck by a bakkie (which fled the scene), and left out in the dark road to die. He died in hospital at around 4am the following morning.
“Dylan’s family and friends are shattered by what happened and they are desperate for answers. There are many things unclear about what happened that night, but our investigation team will do what they can to unravel what transpired and finally bring his killers to justice,” said Action Society spokesperson, Juanita du Preez.
