Action Society will be erecting a Wall of Remembrance in front of the Dawn Park Police Station in Boksburg on Monday, 6 October 2025, at 10:30.
This symbolic wall will serve as a daily reminder to SAPS officers of their shocking failure in the investigation into the disappearance and murder of Nonkululeko Gabriella (Gaby) Luenza Ndaba, and as a call for justice for her family.
Gaby, a 31-year-old woman from Boksburg, went missing on 26 May 2023 and was found dead six days later – just days before her 32nd birthday. From the outset, SAPS failed her and her family: officers at the Dawn Park Police Station showed no urgency when her family reported her missing, refusing to trace her cellphone, which continued ringing until the next morning. That same phone was later found on her body – evidence that could have led to her much sooner if acted upon.
When her body was discovered on 1 June 2023, the failures continued. The crime scene was not secured, critical evidence was overlooked, and some was later found by her family. Police even attempted to return her cellphone before forensic data had been properly extracted.
Action Society’s Wall of Remembrance is both a tribute to Gaby’s life and a public demand that SAPS face their failures.
