HERE ARE THE REASONS TO SUPPORT #sacksitole
JANUARY 2022 – 2nd CRIMINAL CHARGE – IPID
Ipid lodges a second case on 28 January 2022, against Sitole for failing to comply with Section 4, subsection 2 of the Ipid Act. The complaint is in relation to Sitole’s alleged lack of co-operation into an Ipid investigation into the assassination of the Anti-Gang Unit’s Lieutenant-Colonel, Charl Kinnear. This section states that “each organ of state must assist the directorate to maintain its impartiality and to perform its functions effectively”.

NOVEMBER 2021 ̶ FOUND GUILTY OF WAYLAYING CORRUPTION INVESTIGATIONS
In November 2021, Sitole was already found guilty of breaching his statutory duty in terms of section 33 of the Ipid Act. Judgement by North Gauteng High Court Judge Norman Davis, found he and his lieutenants flouted their duty as police officers by waylaying corruption investigations.
NOVEMBER 2021 ̶ NOT CAPABLE TO DEAL WITH JULY UNREST
During hearings of the South African Human Rights Commission regarding the handling of the July 2021 unrest, Sitole conceded that police were overstretched and didn’t have enough capacity to deal with the July unrest in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
NOVEMBER 2021 ̶ ADMITS HE IS NOT QUALIFIED TO HOLD HIS POSITION
The revelation that Sitole didn’t have any post-matric qualification shocked many people. Sitole admitted, under questioning, that he didn’t even have a National Diploma in Policing — a qualification that most of his subordinates possess.
JUNE 2020 ̶ SAPS FIREARM PERMIT SYSTEM (FPS) SHUT DOWN
Sitole allows the shut-down of the SAPS FPS (Firearm permit System) without any contingency plan – which leaves the SAPS with no control over their firearms, resulting in these firearms making their way to the streets and being used by criminals.
