MEDIA INVITATION: Siphokazi Booi murder trial continues

Siphokazi Booi’s murder trial against her killer, Sithobele Qeba (with whom Siphokazi was in a relationship at the time of her brutal killing) will continue in the Paarl Regional Court again on 13, 14 and 17 May. Action Society invites the media and public to attend to put as much pressure on this case as possible.

Qeba pleaded guilty to charges of murder, defeating the ends of justice, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, the desecration of a corpse and failure to comply with bail conditions in the Paarl Regional court. The prosecution refused to settle for a plea, but pursued a trial to put him behind bars for life. Action Society is pleased with the prosecution’s unwillingness to settle for a lesser sentence.

“We will not rest until Qeba receives a life sentence. He treated Siphokazi like trash during their relationship and in her death. He deserves nothing less than to be treated the same for the rest of his life. We need to throw away the key to his jail cell.

Date: 13,14, 17 May 2024
