Action Society invites members of the media to attend the case of Janelle Laattoe and two other women as they face off against a serial abuser on Monday, 16 September 2024. Action Society has reason to be hopeful as the case will be going to trial.
“It is these escalating patterns of abuse that lead to women being murdered by their intimate partners in the end. This case is an important one because we have the chance to stop the cycle of violence,” said Action Society’s Kaylynn Palm.
All three women suffered abuse at the hands of the accused during the course of their relationships with him from 2019 to 2022. Janelle was beaten to a point where she had to have a steel plate inserted inside her wrist, she also had to have some of her teeth replaced and he even tried to burn her with a soldering iron.
The second woman was assaulted in 2022 to the extent that she was in and out of consciousness and suffered severe injuries to her face and arm. The third woman was assaulted and threatened in 2021.
