We demand an end to police brutality after a video showing a shocking incident of a group of armed police officers dragging a man from a blue VW Polo and seriously assaulting him and two others went viral. The officers have since been identified as being Paul Mashatile’s SAPS VIP protection team.

Of the more than 42 000 cases opened against the SAPS with IPID between 2012 and 2019, only 1% resulted in conviction and 4% in disciplinary action. So 95% of the time, police brutality offenders experienced no sanction for alleged misconduct.
