Mia’s case must be a priority!
Four-year-old Mia Botha vanished from a playground near her home on 25 September 2022. A day later, her lifeless body was found in Nederburg, Paarl, brutally murdered.
Yet, over 3 years later, justice remains out of reach.
No arrests.
No answers.
No urgency from authorities.
Mia’s case was assigned to SAPS Paarl East and Child Protection Services, but these units refuse to provide updates to her grieving mother, Udene, or to Action Society. Despite multiple escalations to Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, the Public Protector, The Portfolio Committee on Police and the Cold Case Unit, SAPS has failed to act.
This cannot continue.
Every day, 3 children are murdered in South Africa.
Mia must not be forgotten.
Mia was stolen from her family. When her small body was found, plastic had been forced deep down her throat—a horrifying end that no child should ever suffer.
Yet, her case is being treated with indifference and delay. The forensic investigation is still incomplete. Her killers still walk free.
We refuse to accept this. Will you stand with us?
